What do the collective management of a mountain, a community art festival, or a public facility have in common?
This session, curated by the Barcelona Urban Research Institute (IDRA), will explore culture as a common good through the experience of three cultural practices rooted in specific territories: Galicia, Portugal and Catalonia.
From the consolidated public–community model of Ateneu 9Barris, through the Portuguese festivals Mexe and Imaginarius, to Os Sentires de Monte, a Galician experience of collective management of a communal mountain that becomes a space for cultural practice.
The conversation proposes a plural and critical perspective on how cultural practices can strengthen collective rights, activate shared creativity, and open pathways towards a just ecosocial transition.
