The rapid development and widespread use of artificial intelligence have prompted legislators to consider whether current regulations are sufficient to address the legal challenges AI presents in contemporary society. The European legislator has taken a first step with the approval of the AI Regulation, focusing on ensuring maximum respect for fundamental rights. This roundtable will explore the following questions: Are the obligations imposed by the European Regulation being fulfilled? How can the promotion of AI system training using quality data be reconciled with works and performances that may be protected, in order to safeguard intellectual property rights? What steps have other countries and regions taken?
