Bringing together UCLG’s leading cities on cultural rights, sustainability, care and transitions, this session reaffirms a powerful message: there is no sustainable development without culture. Local and regional governments have been consistent advocates for the inclusion of a dedicated Culture Objective in the post-2030 global development agenda, recognising the transformative role of culture in building fair, inclusive and sustainable societies.
The session will amplify these voices through two high-level panels with mayors and other prominent representatives of globally active cities. It will provide a platform to share, exchange and acknowledge experience and leadership in cultural policy, and to ensure that these voices and key messages are clearly heard in the lead-up to MONDIACULT 2025.
