Gathering UCLG’s leading cities on cultural rights, sustainability, care, and transitions, this session reaffirms a powerful message: there is no sustainable development without culture. Local and regional governments have been consistent advocates for a stand-alone Culture Goal in the post-2030 global development agenda, recognizing the transformative power of culture in building just, inclusive, and sustainable societies.
This session will amplify their voices through two high-level panels featuring mayors and other senior representatives from globally active and leading cities, providing a platform to share, exchange, and acknowledge their experience and leadership in cultural policy — and to ensure their voices and key messages are clearly heard in the lead-up to MONDIACULT 2025.
