This year, Barcelona will celebrate its major festival, La Mercè, from 24–28 September, coinciding significantly with Mondiacult in the city. As part of the festival, Barcelona annually invites a guest city to share a joint artistic process that generates synergies, exchanges of experience, learning, and collaboration between artists, companies, and cultural agents from both cities.

For the 2025 edition, the guest city is Manchester, with which Barcelona shares an industrial and labour movement history, as well as a rich cultural heritage linked to the creative industries.

Within this framework, an event for professionals is planned dedicated to artistic practices in public space, with a special focus on diversity and community-building, elements that are part of the DNA of both Manchester and Barcelona. This event is aimed at Catalan street arts professionals, particularly festival programmers, as well as artists, organisations, and cultural institutions interested in community participation.

Cultural journalist and dance critic Clàudia Brufau will moderate and lead the event.
